Jeudi soir, j’ai trouvé que je n’ai pu pas arriver à dormir.
Alors .... j’ai fait une liste de chansons .
I thought they would soothe me, make my mind all sleepy. But no, each song sent me off on a new train of thought because each one reminded me of something different ...

1. Mad World, Gary Jules; the tsunami that hit Thailand in 2004.
2. Memories On A Deck Part II, Right Away Great Captain!; The bedroom in France and the way the snow looked gorgeous on the branches. Just outside the window there was a little black bird sleeping.
3. How To Save A Life, The Fray; Road trips with my mother, and both of us singing along. She makes mixed CD’s for our car trips, and this was on one of them.
4. Never Gonna Fall In Love Again, Snow Patrol; Leaving France, not the first time but the second time and being alone in the airport.
5. Bittersweet Symphony, The Verve; Teagan and I watching ‘Cruel Intentions’, something our parents would not be impressed with. We were more interested in the soundtrack.
6. Running Up That Hill, Placebo; When the third season of OC started up, this song was on the first episode. It reminds me of when i was obsessed with that little drama series.
7. Just Stay, Kevin Devine; Writing the script for french orals when my cat was sick, trying to make her feel better but knowing she wouldn’t be there for much longer.
8. Winter, Joshua Radin; Dylan always sending me the newest song that he was obsessed with. Realising he has one of the largest, most loving hearts in the world.
9. Anyone Else But You, The Moldy Peaches; Juno, of course. And the way that as soon as i finished watching that movie i went home and downloaded the whole soundtrack.
10. Daniel, Lior; David always giving me new music on his USB in class. I bought the album for him for christmas but neither of us were very impressed with it.
11. Signs, Bloc Party; Lucas, and the cute little text messages he would send me in the mornings to make sure I knew he hadn’t forgotten me.
12. On Longing, Holly Throsby; Jordan told me about her and repeated some lyrics. I tried to find the song but found this one instead. We playher CD’s loud when we’re the only ones home and he teases me about going to her concerts.
13. Sleeping In, The Postal Service; Driving in the car with my dad and annoying him with my music. It was the first time I drove and he took photos.
14. Scar, Missy Higgins; My mother, and how she like Missy Higgins before she was popular.
15. Hallelujah, Jeff Buckley; Being in the car with my mum, and her telling me that if I died, this would be the song that she played at my funeral. I wonder if she has changed her mind?
16. Bixby Canyon Bridge, Death Cab For Cutie; Driving home from Beenleigh on a Sunday night and being lost in thought, as usual.
17. Dosed, Red Hot Chili Peppers; Making Luke a mixed CD for his birthday and falling in love with this song all over again, downloading the film clip.
18. Le Desert, Emilie Simon; The first french song I downloaded and being creeped out but fascnated with the film clip. I memorised the lyrics in 1 hour.
19. Videotape, Radiohead; Finally having an iPod again and missing my stop on the train. I was watching everything go by so fast, trying not to think about what people had said.
20. Stitched Up, Herbie Hancock; When Rachel made her music myspace and this was the song on it. I couldn’t stop listening to it, I fell inlove straight away.
21. Everything’s Not Lost, Coldplay; Walking to school in the winter and wishing my nose would stay a normal colour.
22. Stranger, Angus & Julia Stone; Walking home from school and thinking people in France, thinking they were too too far away.
23. No Aphrodisiac, The Whitlams; Listening to triple j in the mornings on the way to school. Knowing that when the music for the news started, it meant we were late.
