i really am this shallow.

remember that no matter how hard you try, there is always going to be the sense that you missed something. that collapsed feeling under you skin, that you didn't experience anything at all. that fallen heart feeling that you rushed right through the moments where you should have been paying atten the most, taking it all in. get used to that feeling. that's what your whole life will feel like someday. this is all just practice, none of this matters. we're just warming up. and if death meant just leaving the stage long enough to change costume and come back as a new character, would you slow down? or speed up?
